Turkish Airlines interested in expanding direct flights to Cuba
Extending operations and direct flights to Cuba is one of the next goals of the Turkish Airlines, said the company's executive director, Bilal Eksi.

During a meeting with the Cuban ambassador in this country, Luis Alberto Amorós, Eksi expressed the commitment of his company with the continuity of trips to Havana, initiated on December 20, 2016 with a frequency of three weekly.

He also announced his intentions to diversify operations in the Caribbean nation which, he said, is considered a destination of great appeal throughout the world.

In that sense, both agreed on the existence of enormous potential to increase the connections of the airline in the Cuban plaza.

For his part, Amorós highlighted the considerable increase in recent months of Turkish tourism in his country, whose culture and values generate sympathy among visitors.

Turkish Airlines was founded in 1933 with five aircraft and today its fleet has 334 aircraft and transports more than 60 million people.

By 2023, it expects to reach 500 aircraft and move more than 120 million passengers, with growth that will go from two percent of the global market share to four.

The company flies to 119 countries and 290 destinations, and connects with 295 airports.
