The Spanish hotel chain Meliá celebrates 25 years in Cuba

Since Meliá founded its first hotel in Cuba, the Sol Palmeras in Varadero, it has been 25 years of hard struggle, overcoming many political and economic obstacles. A quarter century later, the Majorcan chain is the one with the largest presence in the country with more than 13,000 rooms spread over 27 hotels, of which one of them is the largest under this brand in the world.

Meliá manages its products today in major tourist destinations of the island: Havana, Varadero, Keys of Villa Clara, Holguín, Jardines del Rey and Santiago de Cuba, along with a staff committed to a hospitality based on the details, the quality of services and a personalized attention.

Its founder and Vice President Gabriel Escarrer recently stated in the Tourism Fair FITUR 2015 in Madrid that the commitment to the Cuban tourism remained unconditionally despite 25 years in Cuba.This way, the hotel chain will soon begin operating Melia Jardines del Rey in Cayo Coco with over 1100 rooms and aims to inaugurate two new projects on the island for years to come: the Meliá International and Paradisus Varadero; the first one on the present site of the renowned International Hotel in Varadero, and the second one in the destination Keys of Villa Clara, in the north central region of Cuba.
