Royal Caribbean announced that it will double its trips to Cuba in 2018, with two cruise ships: Majesty of the Seas and Empress of the Seas. In addition, Royal Caribbean is adding two new destinations to the itineraries.
The new Cuban ports of Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos on the southeast coast will be visited by Royal Caribbean and will add a new dimension to a variety of Caribbean adventures of 4 to 8 nights in Empress of the Seas that were recently opened for sale.
Departing from Miami throughout the year, Empress cruise vacations will include 7-night Best of Cuba itineraries to Cienfuegos, Havana and Nassau, Bahamas; Departures of 5 nights to Key West, Florida and spend the night in Havana; and an immersive 8-night trip to Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba, Grand Cayman and Labadee, Haiti. Majesty of the Seas will continue with offers of 4 and 5 nights to Havana that include day and night stays, departing from Tampa from April to October 2018, and Ft. Lauderdale from November 2018 to March 2019.
All trips to Cuba will offer shore excursions designed for guests to experience the destination and meet the requirement of person-to-person educational exchange activities as set forth in US regulations. UU
"Cuba is such an important part of the Caribbean culture, and we can not wait to visit Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos next year, showing even more of the scenic beauty, rich history and distinctive architecture of the country," said Michael Bayley, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.
"The cruise is still the easiest way to visit Cuba, and with these ships sailing there in 2018 and 2019, we hope it will be much easier for adventure lovers to experience the legendary island," he added.
