The province of Holguín, welcomed more than 300 thousand visitors in 2017, securing its position as the fourth tourist destination in Cuba, which represented an increase of 14 percent over the previous season.
Maikel Robelt, commercial specialist of the delegation of the Ministry of Tourism, told the Cuban News Agency the permanence of Canada as the main issuing market, followed by England and Germany.
It meant among the novelties for 2018 the incorporation of the Russian market with the inauguration on December 25 of a new route that links the cities of Holguin and Moscow for the first time.
He specified that the new commercial operation is carried out with Pegas Touristik as a tour operator with a frequency of 11 days and its availability is expected throughout the year.
Robelt, also argued that in the current season is working intensely on quality because it is the main pillar that the visitor perceives upon arrival and the key to increasing every day the repetition rates of the territory.
With more than 200 places of touristic interest and about five thousand 400 rooms, the destination Holguin is consolidated as one of the most important in Cuba, reaching in the current winter season more than 10 percent repetition of its customers.
