With these figures, he noted, Brazil is consolidated in the 16th place among the main emitters of tourists to Cuba and with growths that in the case of May is only surpassed by Chile (30.27 percent) and in the total of the first five months through Mexico (19.73) among Latin American markets.
Fernández Arias also pointed out the importance of the recent participation of Cuba in the World Travel Market Latin America fair, held in Sao Paulo last April, which brought together more than 20,000 participants.
This year, he said, the number of visitors to the Cuban stand increased, which allowed us to consolidate the destination and the Authentica Cuba brand, showing the strengths of our tourism product and the national culture.
According to official figures offered by the Ministry of Tourism, until the end of last May the island received more than two million 160 thousand visitors, with a notable increase of those who arrived aboard cruise ships and mega yachts: more than 300 thousand, for a rise of 38.33 percent compared to the same period of 2017.
