The Dutch travel agency Travelhome offers its customers a new way to explore the whole of Cuba: on board motorhomes that combine the experience of guaranteed accommodation with the road trip at the same time.
With capacity for six vacationers per vehicle, starting this January will begin to reserve travel offers in caravans on the island, with a program designed especially for the Dutch public, reported the local travel portal Verkeersbureaus.
"We are delighted to expand our camping holiday offer exclusively in the Dutch market with this versatile island," Travelhome president Perry van de Wiel told the media.
According to the manager, the Caribbean archipelago has "numerous national parks, music and salsa, colonial architecture, as well as the tobacco region of Pinar del Rio, as well as a cheerful population and beautiful beaches."
"All that is ideal for an adventurous camper experience," he explained.
Customers will depart from Havana, where they will spend up to two days to explore the urban part or a week at the adjacent beaches.
Together with a local operator, Travelhome also selected some 20 ideal sites for camping near hotels, where electricity and water are available. Camping is not allowed free in Cuba, warns the agency.
The rental caravan, in question, is a modern Fiat Ducato of more than 7 meters with places to sleep for up to 6 people. "With an average annual temperature of around 27 degrees, the island is a destination for camping throughout the year," says the Travelhome website.
In addition to Cuba, the Dutch agency also offers camping holidays in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Europe. Travelhome has been awarded the "Best Specialized Tour Operator" title at the Zoover Awards. He is also a member of the ANVR organizations, the Travel Guarantee Fund Foundation (SGR), Calamity Fund and IATA. The company is a subsidiary of ANWB (Royal Dutch Touring Club).
