The figures released by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cuba and the National Bureau of Statistics and Information (ONEI) confirm that Cuba has grown in 2014 not only in the number of arrivals, but also in income.
The collection of some of the major companies belonging to the Cuban tourism system -Gaviota S.A., Habanaguanex and Palco- during 2014 amounted to about 1,700 million euros, a figure that corresponded positively to growth in arrivals to the island that was 3 million tourists for the first time ever, 5.3% to 2013 in relative terms.
The revenue growth of 5.6% in 2013 does not include figures from the private sector on the island, a considerable source of revenue that more surprises the Cuban economy with modern rooms, bars, restaurants and many other initiatives that supplies demand for an economy that is betting positively for economic growth reling on of all its inhabitants.
