Most Caribbean islands suspect that with the opening of US relations with Cuba, the tourist map of the region will change in favor of the largest Caribbean island.
“Overall as the Caribbean its probably exciting that Cuba is coming into the market especially for North American tourists,” said Kenneth Hydes, President of the Cayman Islands Tourism Association.
“I think its something that we are going to have to watch and evaluate. Cayman has always had, we have direct flights to Cuba, and we have a good relationship with the tourism product there to date and I would think we would look to work and improve those as time goes on.”
The researches propose to let the course of events will happen so that you can clearly study the market that really attract the island, that would not be the same as the rest of the region, and in that case would be a incentive for the rest of the Caribbean islands.
