Having recently announced the addition of Hotel Memories Miramar Havana, formerly part of the Hotel Chain Occidental, and the Aparthotel Montehabana, planned to be used for the business market segment in the capital of all Cubans, the Canadian chain Blue Diamond, the second largest hotel chain in number of rooms on the island with 13 hotels in its different brands: Royalton, Memories and Starfish, the latest considered the most expensive version of the three, usually 4 star hotels; will begin operating the Hotel Breezes Jibacoa located on the most important beach strip in Havana, formerly operated by the Jamaican group Superclubs.
The hotel, with a total of 240 rooms, will begin to experience a process of infrastructure improvement and adaptation of standards to suit the requirements of the Canadian market, once it has established itself as the main target for the island. It therefore remains to define the final date for re-opening of this new hotel complex.
The Blue Diamond group already owns more than 7,000 rooms on the largest of the Antilles and plans to continue incorporating hotels in consolidated tourist destinations with an increasing flow of tourists. In this case includes the Memories Holguin, formerly Riu Playa Turquesa, with 531 rooms located in Guardalavaca.
