Air Canada Vacations confirms that it will regularize trips to Cuba.
The tour operator Air Canada Vacations confirmed that this week it will make its first trip from Montreal to Cayo Coco, in Cuba, a country that today is positioned as a safe tourist destination by implementing strict security measures.

As announced, on September 4 Air Canada Vacations will regularize its flights to Jardines del Rey airport, in Cayo Coco, once a week from Montreal, and at the end of the month they will do so from Toronto as well.

Some of the hotels with confirmed reservations to date are Memories Caribe Beach Resort, and Memories Flamenco Beach Resort Playa Paraíso - Cayo Coco Beach Resort.

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic that is hitting the world, those facilities in Cuba were certified with the Most Hygienic and Safe Tourism condition, and are ready to receive foreign travelers, the authorities of the Caribbean island reported.

The hotels have the conditions to ensure physical distancing, the disinfection of hands and means to inform the tourist about the sanitary measures that they must comply with during their stay in Cayo Coco.

Last month, the Jardines del Rey international airport, in Cayo Coco, received the first foreign tourists with strict security and protection measures, since the closure of the borders in Cuba.

The foregoing comprises established hygienic-sanitary protocols to detect any respiratory symptoms of travelers, in order to prevent an outbreak of Covid-19.

Currently, the 10 international airports in Cuba have the necessary certification for the restart of operations in the context of the current epidemiological situation.

Taking the temperature, disinfection of hands, frequent cleaning of areas, fumigation of luggage and interpersonal distancing are part of the established protocols.

The Jardines del Rey tourist destination, located in the keys of the north coast in the center of the archipelago, is among the most popular in Cuba.

Recently, the Ministry of Tourism of that nation certified several hotels in the keys as "safe facilities" and ready to receive guests, with sanitary conditions that include PCR tests and medical monitoring in each accommodation.

As explained by that portfolio, it was decided to open to international tourism the destinations of Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Cruz and Cayo Santa María, because they are some of the main poles of beach tourism in Cuba and because they are in isolated areas.

In fact, international tourists will not be able to carry out activities outside the keys in order to avoid any risk of spreading Covid-19.

In early August, Cuba received its first foreign tourists since it closed its borders in April of this year, to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in the Caribbean country.
