Beltrán de Santa Cruz Hotel. This hotel is an exquisite place that has been reborn in Old Havana. An elegant 18th century house located very close to the Plaza Vieja.
This stately home, built by the parents of Gabriel Beltrán de Santa Cruz, the first Count of San Juan de Jaruco, later belonged to the descendants of the illustrious Marqués de Cárdenas de Monte Hermoso.
During the passage of time it was lived by excellent families and personalities from the society of Havana such as: Pedro Beltrán de Santa Cruz, Count of San Juan de Jaruco, Josefa Catalina de Santa Cruz, the sister of the Cardinal of the Marquesa de Monte Hermoso, the Family of the Marquis of Casa Peñalver.
The city's most illustrious visitors gathered in this house as Baron Alexander de Humboldt, an eminent German scientist, three French princes, the Count of Beaujolais, and the Dukes Montpensier and Orleans. Duke Orleans later became Philip I of France.
