Hotel E La Ronda

Hotel Encanto La Ronda opens onto Parque Céspedes and offers a cheap alternative to the luxury hotel Iberostar Trinidad, while having the advantage of a central location compared to the similarly priced Hotel Horizontes Las Cuevas. The concept is quite simple: take a 19th-century single-family house, fix the pipes and install modern bathrooms, give the rest of the building a decoration and open up to foreign tourists.

The Hotel Cubanacan (formerly Islazul) La Ronda is located in the center of Trinidad, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Nearby is the Romantic Museum, the Plaza Mayor (Plaza Mayor), the Church of Santa Ana, the Cantero Palace and much more.

The 17 air-conditioned rooms are on two levels that open onto an atrium patio with palm trees and potted plants. Rooms are very spacious and have large bathrooms compared to most private room rentals (the most popular options in Trinidad) in the city.

High ceilings and colonial tile floors help keep rooms cool, and those facing south have tall French doors that open to balconies overlooking the lively plaza. Satellite televisions, telephones, small refrigerators, and in-room safes are standard.

The little restaurant and bar here are charming, if simple. Continental and Creole foods are served. For a splurge, the elegant restaurants and bars of the Iberostar Gran Hotel Trinidad are literally 50 steps away.
